January 1, 2018, the Alberta Government adopted The Fair and Family-friendly Workplace Act that mandates up to 10 days of job-protected, unpaid, leave per year for those experiencing domestic violence. It could be to deal with personal injury, to seek counselling, to move, or any reason the employee relates to abuse at home.
